Smart Agriculture
Smart or 'precision' agriculture is an emerging concept that refers to the utilisation of advanced technologies to track, monitor, automate and analyse agricultural practices, with the goal to improve agricultural operations and outcomes via informed decision-making.

As the future of sustainable agriculture, precision agriculture enhances the quality and quantity of products while ensuring the efficient use of resources.
Access real-time data insights across your agribusiness
A wide range of technologies are available for use within agricultural practices. These include:
-
Sensors and IoT devices: These technologies allow for real-time monitoring of soil moisture, temperature, and other environmental factors, as well as the tracking of crop health and growth.
-
Precision Agriculture: Precision agriculture technologies, such as GPS-based mapping, remote sensing, and yield monitoring, help farmers make more informed decisions about when and where to plant, how to irrigate, and when to apply fertilisers.
-
Drones: Drones equipped with cameras and sensors can provide farmers with real-time aerial imagery of their crops, allowing them to identify areas in need of attention and make adjustments accordingly.
-
Artificial Intelligence: AI technologies are used in smart agriculture to optimise crop production, improve yield predictions, and make predictions about future weather patterns and crop growth.
-
Robotics: Robotics technology is being developed to automate manual labour tasks in agriculture, such as planting, harvesting, and weeding.
-
Blockchain: Blockchain technology is being used to create secure and transparent supply chain systems that allow farmers to track their products from the farm to the consumer.

The INDICIUM Platform manages your data so you can manage your farm

The INDICIUM Platform is a data management and analysis tool that can be used to collect and analyse data from various sources, including IoT devices and sensors, and then display the results on a centralised dashboard. This allows farmers, livestock managers, and other stakeholders to monitor the status of their assets and resources in real-time and make informed decisions about their use and management.

By providing a comprehensive view of the data and information collected from various sources, the INDICIUM Platform can help improve the efficiency and sustainability of farming and livestock operations.
We partner with technologies that improve farm management
Indicium is proud to be working with Ceres Tag as a software integration partner for their Ceres Trace technology. Ceres Trace is a satellite-enabled, solar-powered smart ear tag that is worn by livestock to monitor their location and movements. Ceres Trace uses data collection and on-tag analytics to provide animal-specific geospatial location data in addition to movement and animal health monitoring.

As a software integration partner, Indicium can work with farmers to collect the data received from Ceres Trace tags, providing integration with existing farm-based software, or integration with the INDICIUM Databus. Farmers are then able to use this information to better manage their livestock, track their movements, and mitigate biosecurity and theft risk.
